OPAL TOWER UPDATE 12.07.19

RECTIFICATION WORKS UPDATE

Works onsite have been progressing well and the structural works will be completed by the end of July 2019.

Icon continue to work with the Owners Corporation and their nominated representatives, Cardno and BT Project Management, who attend site on a regular basis to inspect and witness the works.

RE-OCCUPATION INSPECTIONS

Occupant inspection times have been issued to all units due for release on the 15th and 16th July. If you have not booked in a time slot, please contact the Opal Tower Support Team at the earliest opportunity to confirm a time.

If you are unable to carry out the re-occupation inspection, a representative of BT Project Management (Owners Corporation Project Manager) will carry out the inspection on your behalf.

APARTMENTS READY FOR RE-OCCUPATION

The following apartments will be ready for re-occupation on Friday, 2 AUGUST 2019:

905, 1105, 1106, 1205, 1206, 1305, 1306, 1405, 1406, 1505, 1506, 1704,  1804, 1904, 2004, 2104, 2204, 2304, 2404, 2504, 2603, 2604, 2703, 2704, 2803, 2804, 2903, 2904, 3003, 3004, 3103, 3104, 3203, 3204, 3303, 3304, 3403, 3404, 3504 and 3505.

Please contact the Opal Tower Support Team via email to coordinate the re-occupation inspection which will give you an opportunity to review the apartment and collect the apartment key (if held by Icon).

REIMBURSEMENTS – OWNER OCCUPIERS

Reimbursements as of the 10th July 2019 will be subject to actual accommodation costs supported by receipts.

NCAT PROCEEDINGS

Icon are aware that a number of tenants have made applications to the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) to recover rent paid to their respective landlords. Icon will seek recovery of all amounts paid to tenants in these circumstances.

Icon have generously compensated tenants for their rent, alternative accommodation costs and living expenses during the rectification process while their unit was un-occupiable. 

If any landlords/owners receive a NCAT notice from their tenant, please contact Opal.TowerSupportTeam@icon.co for further assistance.
